FARMWAY FEED
Farmway Feeds are manufactured by FeedCo at Piercebridge in our recently refurbished Feed Mill. Diets are formulated to exacting standards to meet the requirements of modern day farming but still recognising the need for feeds for traditional systems.
Farmway’s feed mill is fully compliant with the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme and is audited on a regular basis. The scope of our quality system includes the manufacture of GM Free compound feeds.
Dairy
With margins in the dairy industry under severe pressure, the correct rationing of cows is of utmost importance. The Farmway Dairy Feed range is designed to compliment the varied feeding regimes found on farm. The addition of double pressing and oil spraying has produced feeds of superb physical quality to work in all parlour systems.
Central to the Dairy Feed Range is Our ‘Bird of Prey’ range. These have performed extremely well over the years on many varied systems. The inclusion of OMEGA 3 in selected diets helps with herd health and has been shown to increasing bulling and conception rates. The range covers the normal levels of protein and energy required by varying dairy systems. Flexibility is important in manufacturing dairy feeds with so many diverse feeding regimes around, so we are able to include certain additives in our standard ranges on request. These include Yeasts, Biotin, Megalac, Vitamin E and Selplex 50 among others.
Sheep
Farmway Sheep Feeds are formulated to the exacting standards demanded by modern farmers. High priority is given to produce palatable feeds with excellent physical quality. Fixed formulations help intakes at crucial times in the pregnancy and balanced nutrient supply along with full mineralization contribute to the high performance associated with our feeds. OMEGA 3 is included in part of the range, which has been shown to increase lamb survival and vigour. Recent research has prompted us to increase Vitamin E levels in line with industry recommendations.
Lamb
All Farmway Lamb feeds are designed to give high levels of lean muscle growth. Ammonium Chloride is added as standard to help safeguard against Urinary Calculi. GM Free options are available.
Calf and Beef
Farmway have long been associated with top quality Beef and Rearing feeds. All differing systems of rearing are catered for from Dairy Replacements, Suckler Calves and Intensive Systems. Our range covers the varying protein, starch and energy requirements of these systems to maximise growth potential.
Poultry
GOLDEN YOLK POULTRY RANGE
This June, Farmway launched its new range of poultry feeds, aimed at the Small Holder as well as the commercial farmer. We looked at what the Small Holders were demanding and decided to manufacture our poultry feed with GM free ingredients. This meant we specially sourced South American Soya Bean Meal and used this along with traditional ingredients such as locally sourced Wheat and Wheatfeed. This enabled us to claim the feeds GM Free status in line with supermarket retailer specifications.
We also formulated the diets using natural yolk pigments based on plant extracts to complement the GM Free status. The pigments used are based on Marigold Petals and Red Pepper.
We also include a source of OMEGA 3 in the diets to increase the levels of Long Chain Fatty Acids, which leads to healthier hens and eggs.
A diet high in OMEGA 3 has long known to give health benefits to humans. According to the clinical literature, increased Omega-3 fatty acid levels in the blood have been proven to positively impact cardiovascular disease, help control silent inflammation, slow the growth and development of certain cancer cells, slow the progression of Alzheimers disease, significantly enhance brain function, and assist in managing neurological disorders.

Pig
Also manufactured at Piercebridge is our range of Sow and Rearing feeds. Our policy is to manufacture diets with ingredients similar to home mixers using Hipro Soya, Cereals, Wheatfeed. Performance and Physical Quality are important values when considering formulations and we pride ourselves in the levels we achieve.
Protein Concentrates
Where farmers wish to utilize their own cereals, we manufacture a full range of Protein Concentrates to balance. All classes of stock are catered for and Natural Protein concentrates are available as well as Urea based.
