GROWHOW NITROGEN
GrowHow manufacture the most well recognised fertiliser brands in the UK in a distinct blue bag, manufacturing high quality product.  GrowHow's brand will help you achieve both yield and specification aspirations and meet your expectation in every respect.  GrowHow has developed a range of services aimed at giving UK farmers the tools needed to maximise the full potential from your fertiliser purchase.

Products

Nitram   34.5%

A concentrated form of ammonium nitrate fertiliser, high quality, free flowing, and the UK’s best known brand of straight nitrogen.

DoubleTop 27N + 30SO3

The sulphur rich top dressing has the right balance of Nitrogen to Sulphur for first top dressing.  DoubleTop is the perfect choice for the cereal and oilseed rape grower at the forefront of husbandry, with high yields and quality cereals to the farmer in a sulphur deficient area.

SingleTop 27N + 12SO3

The flexible sulphur top dressing product for arable and grass crops, contains sulphate which is the most effective source of sulphur for maximum grass growth and yields.

CropMaster 27:4:4 + 6SO3

The simple, one-product solution for sulphur-responsive areas, balances the nutrients recycled by grazing animals.  Also a very flexible, spring-applied top dressing, containing Sulphur and added P and K, contains sulphate the most effective source of sulphur for maximum crop growth and yield.

Swardsman 25:5:5

The all-season grazing fertiliser has proved reliable in all situations for more than 25 years.  Swardsman is used as a flexible grazing product for medium or low intensity grassland farms.

Twenty Ten Ten  20:10:10

The quality NPK fertiliser for less intensive grassland situations on low fertility soils.  Hos lower N levels to suit less intensive situations such as hay production and extensive grazing.

Twenty Ten Ten is a general purpose fertiliser which can be used for many applications on the farm.

Cut & Graze 21:5:9

The all purpose fertiliser which gives more tonnes for less money in extensive systems.  Just one product to stock, freeing up storage space.

Kayenne 26:0:15    Kayenne Sulphur 25:0:13 + 7SO3

For high yielding second and third cut silage.  High nitrogen content can mean less product to store and apply.

Early Bite 25:10:0

The first choice for early spring grazing.  A potash-free product and therefore less risk of grass staggers.  Early Bite has a high proportion of nitrogen in ammonium form, which is protected from leaching and all the phosphate is applied in early spring when it gives better yields than a little and often approach.

MultiCut 25:4:13  MultiCut Sulphur 23:4:13 + 7SO3

The all-season silage fertilisers, balances slurry so that costs can be reduced by making maximum use of the farm's own slurry and FYM resources.

Number Four  15:15:20

Providing NPK in a single application.  A cost effective single, first NPK dressing, balanced with straight nitrogen, ideal for spring or winter cereals, grass ley resseds, maincrop potatoes and grass cutting systems on low phosphate and potash soils.

Number Seven  17:17:17

General purpose NPK fertiliser.  A leach resistant and so more environmentally friendly NPK fertiliser for oilseed rape, potatoes, spring crops, grass ley reseeds, and grass cutting systems on low phosphate and potash soils.

Useful Conversions

Imperial                        units/acre x 1.25 = kg/ha

                                     50kgs bags/acre x 123.5 = kgs/ha

Metric                                    kg/ha x 0.8 = units/acre

                                    kgs/ha x 0.00809 = 50kgs bags/acre

Understanding Fertiliser Analysis

Imperial

1 unit = 1% of a cwt

So a fertiliser with the analysis 15:15:20 contains:-

         15 units N

         15 units P2O5

         20 units K2O

Metric

Under the metric system the unit of measurement is kg

Recommendations are given in kg/ha

A fertiliser with the analysis 15:15:20 contains:-

         15% N    15% P2O5    20% K2O

So in a 50kg bag:-

          15% of the 50kg is N  i.e. 7.5kg N

          15% of the 50kg is P2O5  i.e. 7.5kg P2O5

          20% of the 50kg is K2O  i.e. 10kg K2O

15:15:20 on the bag means:

            15 units N                   or              7.5kg N

         15 units P2O5             or              7.5kg P2O5

         20 units K2O               or              10kg K2O
