Molamins Molassed Mineral Buckets - Make sure your minerals are not wasted.

Dallas Keith Molamins Mineral Buckets contain high mineral levels of both the major and trace elements in equivalent amounts to many free access mineral powders. They are available in a molasses block so that stock find it very attractive and palatable and they are waste free. Being unaffected by wet conditions makes them ideal for use with both grazing and housed stock.

Why feed minerals?

Minerals fall into two main categories:

Major Minerals - Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium and Sodium

Trace Minerals - Copper, Zinc, Manganese, Cobalt, Iron, Iodine and Selenium

These minerals are essential not only in building sound bones and tissue but also in ensuring good feed conversion.
The correct balance of minerals and vitamins are present in all Dallas Keith's Molamins Mineral Buckets.

NEW GENERATION FEED BLOCKS - One look will tell you they're different.

With molasses and cereal-based formulations including Soya, barley and maize, we have struck a balance between making blocks which are hard enough to stand up to the worst weather and providing blocks which give your stock ready access to the supplementary minerals, vitamins and trace elements essential for health and production.

Formulations:

  • Bio Block
  • Bloat Blox
  • Energy Block
  • Extra Energy Block - with a higher level of protected fat
  • Hi-Mag Energy Block
  • Suckler Cow
  • Pre-Tup Tubs
  • Twin Lamb Tubs
  • Dry Cow
  • Cattle Protein
  • Sheep Protein
  • Worming Blocks
  • Deccox Blocks

For beef, energy can help produce:

  • Stronger, healthier calves at birth.
  • Heavier calves at weaning.
  • Cows that cycle better for improved conception rates.
  • A higher percentage of early births.
  • Bulls which are in better condition to serve your cows.

For dairy, energy can produce:

  • Replacement heifers that grow-out early and economically.
  • Body condition on dry cows so they can return to lactation, producing at the maximum potential.
  • Healthier herds helped by essential trace minerals to guard against reproductive disorders.
  • Prompt re-breeding, thanks to vital nutrients.

For Sheep, energy can help:

  • Meet the energy crisis at lambing and twin lamb disease.
  • Reduce labour.
  • Balance out variations in roughage quality.
  • Provide 24 hour access even for shy feeders.
  • Supply energy for flushing and pre-tupping.

JUMBO FEED BLOCKS

A new manufacturing process has enabled us at Dallas Keith to produce, what are probably, the world's largest feed blocks - the 500 kg Jumbo Blocks!

50kg &100 kg TUBS
These blocks come in robust plastic tubs and are formulated to the same specification as the JUMBO blocks but are suitable for smaller groups of stock. Supplied in tough rectangular recyclable plastic containers.

20 kg TUBS
Again using the same high specification as the JUMBO range but readily handled in plastic tub or more environmentally friendly cardboard packaging.

ADVANTAGES

More convenient - because the number of blocks required is greatly reduced, so are handling and distribution.
Less waste - reduced trampling and fouling plus a more weather-resistant formulation.
Long-lasting - a boon in bad weather with fewer trips to remote grazing.
Competitively priced - energy intake is self limiting so you can be sure of improved performance at a predictable cost - plus all the savings in time and effort!
More 'goodness' in every lick - a high level of dry ingredients with a higher nutrient density.
Consistent degree of hardness - for more uniform consumption.
Environmentally - friendly and economical packaging - mainly cardboard, on a wooden pallet.
Flexible nutrient specification - can be made to suit the needs of your area.

FEED BLOCK MANAGEMENT

Feed supplement blocks are designed for 'ad-lib' administration in conjunction with sound animal husbandry.
Consumption is controlled by a number of factors:

  • Composition of the supplement.
  • Quality and quantity of available roughage.
  • Weather conditions.
  • Existing feeding regime.
  • Previous management practices.

At first, place:
20 kg blocks at a ratio of 1 block per 10 head of cattle or per 25 ewes.
50 kg blocks at a ratio of 1 block per 20 head of cattle or 30 ewes.
100 kg block at a ratio of 1 block per 30 head of cattle or per 50 ewes.
500 kg block at a ratio of 1 block per 50 head of cattle or 100 ewes.

Once animals have become accustomed to an energy feed supplement, consumption can be managed by:

  • Increasing or reducing the number of blocks available.
  • Relocating them either closer to, or further away from, supplies of water or roughage.

ALWAYS

  •  Provide unlimited drinking water.
  • Supply adequate quantities of as good quality roughage as you can.
  • Administer sufficient levels of mineral supplementation on an ad-lib basis.
  • Monitor consumption and adjust, as necessary, using the methods outlined above.

Subject to formula selected and animal weight, intake of these products should range between 0.5 - 1 kg/head/day for cattle and 30 - 90 gms/head/day for sheep.
