Baileys No1 Cooked Cereal Meal Horse Feed is a non- heating conditioning feed, made exclusively from micronised wheat. Often recommended by vets for horses following surgery, the cooking process of cooked cereal meal helps minimize the chance of digestive upsets or excitable behaviour. The complementary feed should always be fed with a broad spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement or balancer, but can be added to other straights, such as oats, barley, alfalfa, chaff or soaked sugar beet pulp. It should be fed damp or as a mash for sick or elderly horses. Introduce slowly, a handful at a time, and aim for Cooked Cereal Meal to make up a maximum of 1/3 to ˝ of the total daily concentrate ration.
